The new Cummins air compressor (part numbers: 3991521, 3969124, 4936216, 4946299, 5301090) is designed to produce compressed air for the pneumatic system of a vehicle. It primarily supplies the air brake system in trucks, buses, and construction machinery, providing the pressure necessary for safe braking. Additionally, it can serve: pneumatic suspension, automatic transmission shift assistance, other pneumatic components (e.g., horns, bus doors). Directly driven by the engine (gear-driven), it draws atmospheric air and compresses it to approximately 8–10 bar.
